I’ve acquired a herman miller plywood chair and it damaged but intact and fucntional. The damages are deep gouges scratches and so forth. what type of finishes are these chairs – Shellac, Lacquer or varnish.?
Thinking of reconditioning it.

The chair has considerable value to collectors. Some have sold for thousands of dollars. refinishing it may destroy the value. It should be refurbished by a pro.
If, in fact, it is a real Eames chair, anything YOU do to it will destroy any value. Some things are better left to professionals!
